In the screening room Angus provides a spoiler free review of Werewolf By Night. "On a dark and somber night, a secret cabal of monster hunters emerge from the shadows and gather at the foreboding Bloodstone Temple following the death of their leader. In a strange and macabre memorial to the leader’s life, the attendees are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic—a hunt that will ultimately bring them face to face with a dangerous monster. Inspired by horror films of the 1930s and 1940s, the chilling special aims to evoke a sense of dread and the macabre, with plenty of suspense and scares along the way as we explore a new corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

Welcome to Long Time Ago, a journey into the Marvel Star Wars Legends Comics. Our host Angus first made the jump to hyperspace and a galaxy far far away by reading Marvel Star Wars Vol 1 Issue #9 and never looked back! Travel back to 1977 into the origins of the series and discover how comics has supported fandom and in some ways shaped the Star Wars universe. This twenty-seventh episode is a review of the first issue of Dark Horse Comics's adaptation of the novel Splinter of the Mind's Eye. "Deep in the swamplands of the planet Mimban lies a powerful crystal, capable of giving its possessor an invincible mastery of the Force. In the right hands, it could save the galaxy. But in the wrong hands, it could destroy it. While the explosion of the first Death Star still reverberates through the cosmos, Luke Skywalker finds that the war he thought he won was only a battle, and that the dark side of the Force still stalks the galaxy." We hope you enjoy this latest adventure in the journey! Please drop us a message on the anchor app or send us an mp3 or email to [email protected].

In the screening room Angus has discovered a 22 min video done by 2022 Eisner award winning author Eike Exner on the real origins of Manga in support of his award winning book 'Comics and the Origins of Manga: A Revisionist History'. This is an amazing reveal of the true origins of Manga and draws upon the common ground that western comics and Manga came from. From the author Eike Exner: "I spent several years in Japan researching the history and origins of manga and found out that the dominant narrative is mostly nonsense."
