Three legends. One extraordinary story.
It begins with Sebastian Vettel and a guitar handmade by legendary songwriter and craftsman Phillip Jarrell—a special gift intended for Mick Jagger.
After meeting Sebastian in Montreal, I invited him to a sold-out Rolling Stones 50th-anniversary show. He asked if his entire team could attend. Somehow, we made it happen.
Later, with the help of Bretta, I took Phillip’s guitar into the Formula 1 paddock in Barcelona, where Sebastian signed it for Mick—and left a personal message on the back. I then carried it through London customs before delivering it to Mick Jagger’s office.
For this episode, I wear the same Comme des Garçons jacket from that Rolling Stones evening—a piece from the influential Japanese fashion house founded by Rei Kawakubo. The original event credentials remain attached to it, preserving another small piece of the story.
Today, the story comes full circle at Monza.
Sebastian Vettel returns to a Formula 1 cockpit to drive Michael Schumacher’s legendary Ferrari F2002—one of the most dominant cars in Formula 1 history and the machine in which Schumacher secured his fifth World Championship.
It is more than a demonstration lap. Vettel grew up idolizing Schumacher, later became a four-time World Champion himself and raced for Ferrari. Now he drives Michael’s car around Monza as Ferrari marks 30 years since Schumacher’s first season with the Scuderia.
A guitar for Jagger.
A Ferrari for Schumacher.
And Sebastian Vettel connecting three legends across music, friendship and Formula 1 history.
