Kuala Lumpur’s River of Life project to rehabilitate the city's waterways was reported to be about 95% complete in early 2025, more than a decade after it was first announced. Architect Dr Tan Loke Mun assesses what was promised, what was built, and whether the River of Life can actually deliver lasting urban, environmental and social impact.
