We observe the Lord's Supper at this afternoon's service.

In the final part of our series on Psalm 116 we consider 3 things from the psalmist--1- Paying vows to the Lord-2- In the presence of all the people-3- In the courts of His house

In today's service we heard about the danger of forgetting the basics of the Gospel. We go back to basics and consider 1 Corinthians 15 verses 1 and 2 under 3 headings--1- The Gospel which you stand-2- The Gospel which you are being saved-3- Holding fast to that Gospel-We explore the significance of important words like justification and sanctification and how they are gifts which we should believe, embrace and hold fast to.

A special meeting for Mrs Di Gillies who received the British Empire Medal for services to Marie Curie and the community.

Tonight we consider the words of John 17 verse 22 and the importance of the body of believers -the church- to be as one. We explore the 7 reasons why we should be one--1- We worship the same God the father-2- We who are saved all belong to the Son Jesus-3- All believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit-4- The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One-5- We live by the same Word-6- Our oneness will prompt unbelievers to believe-7- We shall all live together in glory.-May we all be at one with God and may we be as one with each other in the Lord.

Today we had Mr Innes Fraser, Mr Iain Gray and Mr Alasdair MacLennan ordained and admitted to the office of elder in the congregation. The sermon focussed on 3 ways the Lord was at work in the church through--1- The Word-2- The Holy Spirit-3- The Preacher-God uses ordinary flawed men to oversee His church but there is the example of the great over-shepherd Jesus who, through the Word and the Spirit, helps the under-shepherds to lead and serve the church as elders. We ask that God will be with the new elders and existing Kirk Session as they serve Him and His church in Knockbain.

Tonight we continue our study in Psalm 116 focusing on verses 16-17 and consider the words of the psalmist under 3 headings--1- I am your servant-2- I am the son of your maid servant-3- I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving

Today we see the compassion and kindness of Jesus as he asks God the Father to send his followers a Helper- The Holy Spirit. We are not promised a pain free existence in life but those who believe and trust in God are promised the presence of the Holy Spirit who is a great comforter, a great helper and a great enabler.

This is the funeral service of our dear brother and elder Mr John MacDonald which was held in Knockbain Free Church on Tuesday 15 February 2022.---Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.- -- Psalm 116 v 15

We don't often see death as precious, instead it is viewed as hard, harsh, and our last enemy. Why then does the psalmist say that the death of a believer is precious in God's sight- There are 3 things God sees in Jesus' death which impacts on the believer's death--1- He sees the fruit of all his work-2- He sees the travail of his soul-3- He sees his beloved cross the threshold-Death is the last enemy the believer conquers through Christ and as such we are not doomed when we die but rather those who flee to Jesus today will be with God in glory for eternity.
