April 12, 2023Ep#12: Book Review: The Barefoot Woman by Scholastique Mukasonga. In honor of the commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi, I would like to share with you a Review of the book ‘The Barefoot Woman’ by Scholastique Mukasonga. A piece written to pay tribute to Mukasonga’s mother (Stefania). Stefania is the Barefoot Woman who desperately looked out and did her best to protect her children, but was it possible in the end? How did Stafania’s daily life look like? This book gives a detailed picture of the a typical Rwandan lifestyle for most families earlier in Rwanda. It links lots of scenarios to explain how their neighborhood had no complete freedom when it came to how they lived their lives because they were Tutsis.I DO NOT OWN RIGHTS TO THE MUSIC USED IN THE BACKGROUND.Soothing Music by Yellow Brick Cinema (Body Mind Zone) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWPvuW7pX1E&t=171s...more19minPlay

March 15, 2023Ep#8: Who/ What are you listening to?In today's episode, I(Perside) took you through my 22nd year - just a little. I also talked about how lots of things (the people we listen to, books we read, movies we watch and places we visit) trigger silent conversations within our minds which later influence who we become. Take your 10 minutes as you walk around your neighborhood, cook or take a shower and listen to my personal experiences. I can't wait to hear your different perspectives on what I shared.
