Jason Forgy is a restaurateur (co-founding Freshcraft and
Block and Larder restaurants in Denver), entrepreneur, BJJ purple belt at 303 Training Center, father and family man, lover of quality experiences, and many other things I am unaware of.
I ate at B&L the day following the podcast, and can highly recommend the charred brussel sprouts etoufee, bacon flight (especially the lamb bacon), and steak tartare.
I appreciate Jason's ability to move our discussions from casual banter to seriousness back to goofiness. This conversational versatility has largely characterized our friendship over the years, and being able to shift between topics and moods is a quality I very much value in our discussions.
Our conversation spans many topics including but not limited to entrepreneurship, knee injuries in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, the ails of aging and athletic pursuits, experiences with butchering and cadavers, existential suffering, why adversity defines individuals, and much more.
I hope the listeners can glean insight as well as entertainment from our podcast. Jason leaves the listeners with the message to be good people (and to grab a beer at Freshcraft), and I think such a conclusion to our conversation is illustrative of Jason's character and approach to life.
