It's easy to see God's law as frustrating or limiting.  It can be easy to see God as a cranky control freak instead of understanding the underneath human flourishing of many laws. Some laws we may not see the flourishing aspect, this side of heaven. We also dive into the incredible practical forgiveness that God calls us to - although it can be very offensive to our sinful nature.

Man, Christ is challenging. We want to hate our enemies - which sounds great, right? This is the contrast between the kingdom of heaven and sin. Our sin feels justified in hating our enemies but this is not the way of God. This is so challenging, convicting and yet to know Christ means we must ask the Holy Spirit to transform us. We are missing out on the glory and goodness of Christ if we don't understand these upside-down mysteries.  Recorded 2/17/23
