  • Exploring The Soul - 7 - Icebergs & Souls
Exploring The Soul - Part 7
    "Icebergs & Souls"
(Recorded at the Intown Jewish Academy on March 5, 2017)
There is only so much of the soul that we can see. No matter how well you know someone, or even yourself, it's just the tip of the iceberg. And like an iceberg, what's visible above the surface is but a small part of the true reality.
Kabbalah teaches that there are lofty souls that appear lowly, and lowly souls that appear lofty. This is because we only see what we can see -- while a greater truth lies beneath the surface...
In this session of Kabbalah & Coffee we explore the known and unknown dimensions of the soul. We'll learn how to better read souls, and how to leverage that awareness to further our own soul's mission here on earth.

  • Exploring The Soul - 6 - Where in the World is Radl'a?
Exploring The Soul - Part 6
"Where in the World is Radl'a?"
(Recorded at the Intown Jewish Academy on February 19, 2017)
See, that's exactly the problem. Radl'a in not in the world at all -- it's far, far removed from anything related to the world or creation. Radl'a is so beyond anything we know, the only thing we know is that it's unknowable.
Theoretically, we wouldn't need to even discuss Radl'a. And that's the way we would leave it -- if we didn't have a "spark" originating from Radl'a within us.
We call it the "soul." The Kabbalists call it an unknown impossibility. And we'll seek to understand it a little better in this session of Kabbalah & Coffee.

  • Exploring The Soul - 5 - The Mystery of the Soul
Exploring The Soul - Part 5
    "The Mystery of the Soul"
(Recorded at the Intown Jewish Academy on February 12, 2017)
There are things that are not know. Then there are things that are unknowable. One represents a deficiency in knowledge; the other, a natural fact of the universe.
Is the soul merely not know, or unknowable? Is it possible that someone could have a completely incorrect assessment of the stature of their own soul, or another's?
In this session of Kabbalah & Coffee we untangle some mysteries of the soul -- and add some more.

  • Exploring The Soul - 4 - Vessels & Garments
Exploring The Soul - Part 4
    "Vessels & Garments"
(Recorded at the Intown Jewish Academy on February 5, 2017)
Kabbalah speaks of garments and vessels. Both serve to "enclose" another entity. But they do it in vastly different ways.
In this session of Kabbalah & Coffee we explore the mystical realities of garments and vessels, and learn much about how both we and the universe at large operate.

  • Exploring The Soul - 3 - You Think You Know
Exploring The Soul - Part 3
    "You Think You Know"
(Recorded at the Intown Jewish Academy on January 29, 2017)
Sometimes you think you know. And then you realize you don't have a clue.
Think about a time you wanted something badly. Very badly. You may have had good reasons why you wanted it, but you and I both know the truth: even if someone presented logical arguments as to why you shouldn't want it, nothing would have changed. You would have still wanted it.
What happened, then, is that you thought you understood your motives. Then you realized they're deeper than knowing...
In this session of Kabbalah & Coffee we explore the realm of the known and the unknown. We talk about the mystical meaning of garments, vessels, emotions, wisdom, and will. And we gain a better understanding of what makes us tick.
