The Lyon County Sheriff's office is looking for a 57-year-old woman who has been missing since Wednesday.

A hit-and-run driver killed a man who survived the October first mass shooting in Las Vegas, where 58 were killed and hundreds more were wounded.

Sparks Boulevard north of North Los Altos was closed for a couple of hours yesterday evening after a vehicle hit a pedestrian. Police say a man was driving a G-M-C Yukon with his wife and infant child when a pedestrian reportedly stepped into the roadway. The driver of the Yukon told police he was traveling the speed limit when the pedestrian suddenly appeared. The truck hit the pedestrian and threw him a short distance. Police say they believe alcohol may have been involved. The injured pedestrian was taken to Renown Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The Lyon County Sheriff's office is looking for a 57-year-old woman who has been missing since Wednesday. Deputies are asking for the public's help in locating Nancy Vandenput of Fernley. She was last seen in the Jason Court area of Fernley at about 8:30 Wednesday night and has not been seen or heard from since. She was seen driving a 2006 silver Chevrolet pickup truck with Nevada license plate VM3783. There's a Marine Corps bulldog sticker on the rear of the truck. Vandenput is white, about 5'4" and about 101 pounds. She has green eyes, wears glasses and has sandy blonde hair. If you know where she may be located, please notify the Lyon County Sheriff's Office disptch center.

Reno Police have arrested at least one person they believe stole items from the Kohl's Department store on Damonte Ranch Parkway yesterday evening. Police say several people grabbed items from the store and left in a vehicle shortly after 6. Police found the vehicle in the Rio Wrangler area and several officers began looking for the suspects. Police say one of them was found near Stetson Drive and Lamour Lane where he was taken into custody. Police are still looking for other suspects and missing items.

A case of Hepatitis A has been identified in an employee who works at the Trader Joe's in Reno. Any one who shopped at the store between October 20th and October 31st is urged to watch for symptoms which may include mild fever, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. fatigue, pain in the upper right side of the abdomen, dark urine, and jaundice. Customers who visited the location during that time need to watch for symptoms from now until December 20th. If you do exhibit symptoms like this, stay home from work, especially if you're employed in the food service, child care, ort health care industries.
