THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RENO IS ADVISING TRAVELERS TONIGHT TO EXPECT TRAFFIC SLOWDOWNS OVER THE SUMMIT, AS A WINTER STORM IS ENTERING THE REGION TOMORROW THROUGH THURSDAY.

The first big fall weather pattern is on the way to the Sierra, Lake Tahoe basin and the Truckee Meadows, Wednesday into Thursday. This storm will bring the highest wind speeds we've seen since last winter, but because of it's sub-tropical nature, amounts and snow levels are hard to determine says Scott McGuire with the National Weather Service Reno.
