This Independence Day will be very busy at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, with more than 12,000 passengers each day arriving and departing through the terminal. Passengers are encouraged to arrive early, at least 90 minutes prior to their scheduled departure, in order to allow time for parking, airline check-in and TSA security lines. TSA is staffing the Security Checkpoint starting at 4:00 a.m. and will have the Pre-Check line open for registered Pre-Check travelers.

Crews from The Truckee Meadows Fire Department and the BLM are responding to a wildfire burning between Wadsworth and Nixon. The Truckee Fire was reported around 6:19 a.m. this morning. Truckee Meadows Fire says the fire has burned between 800 and 1,000 acres at a moderate rate of speed. No structures are currently threatened. Sierra Front tells us air resources are also being ordered because of the difficult terrain. There is no estimate for containment.
