South Virginia from Patriot to Plumb is getting resurfaced by the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County beginning tomorrow evening because of all the damage caused by the winter weather.

The Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center is reporting this afternoon that fire crews have stopped the progress of a fire southeast of Fernley near Drayer Lane. The fire has consumed approximately 6 acres of brush and grass.

A University of Nevada, Reno professor who is accused of walking a 13-year-old student to the principal's office by his ear, is facing two misdemeanor charges.

The Drayer Fire south east of Fernley is now reported at 22 acres according to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch.
