Lightning sparked a wildfire just after 6:00 o'clock yesterday evening in the Faye-Luther Canyon near Gardnerville in Douglas County. Rain stopped the fire from spreading and no homes or structures were threatened as of Monday night. The fire is still not fully contained. The U-S Forest Service has been monitoring the blaze, and last estimate the fire had burned about a quarter of an acre. The nearest town to the fire is Fredericksburg, but East Fork District Battalion Chief, Larry Goss says the fire is not a direct threat.
