A Placer County Sheriff's deputy shot a man early Sunday morning in Carnelian Bay at Lake Tahoe. Deputies were responding to a 9-1-1 call that said someone in the house was acting "bizarre". When they knocked on the door, a man answered holding a large barbecue skewer. He was ordered to drop the skewer, but instead lunged at the deputy and tried to stab him. Placer County Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Scott said the deputy "used his service weapon to stop the threat." The man was transported to Renown Medical Center via LifeFlight, but his condition is unknown.
