A secretly recorded conversation between Nevada attorney general Adam Laxalt and A.G. Burnett, chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, has led to a yearlong investigation and a legislative inquiry. Nevada Democrats are accusing Laxalt of doing the bidding of GOP Mega-Donor Sheldon Aldelson, when he requested an urgent meeting with Burnett. Burnett says he recorded the meeting and was advised by Govorner Brian Sandoval's general counsel to send the tape the FBI. A couple weeks later, in mid-May, the FBI informed him that they found Laxalt committed no criminal wrongdoing. Laxalt says his own recorded words prove that he did not have ulterior motives
