The state legislature is considering creation of a "Green Bank," which would leverage some public money and private investment to change that.

The Assembly Energy Subcommittee took testimony supporting the creation of a "Green Bank," it would pull together public and private money, to give lower interest loans to people who install energy saving measures on their homes.

Even with the so called "Travel Ban" on hold by the courts, Nevada tourism is being negatively impacted, according to Congresswoman Dina Titus.

Getting financing for green energy projects in your home can be challenging, and interest rates can be pretty high. The state legislature is considering creation of a "Green Bank," which would leverage some public money and private investment to change that.

Congresswoman Dina Titus is not supporting the Presidents "Travel Restrictions" which are currently on hold in the courts. She says it's bad for Nevada tourism, and damaging because of the perception that the U.S. is "Not a welcoming country."

Nevada lawmakers will hear a bill this week that would prohibit state and local government agencies from incarcerating Nevada offenders in privately operated prisons. No private prisons currently exist in Nevada, but the bill would affect a handful of the 13,300 prisoners overseen by the state because 46 of them are currently in private prisons outside of Nevada. Gov. Brian Sandoval proposed this year to move 200 more people to them to relieve overcrowding. The prison bill will be heard Tuesday.
