The Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County is ready to break ground on the 4th Street/Prater Way Rapid Transit project, and they have a public meeting scheduled tomorrow to tell you more about it.

A ski patroller died in an explosion while taking part in avalanche control Tuesday morning at a Tahoe resort. 42 year old Joe Zuiches had been working before opening hours at the Squaw Valley, and was killed after the detonation of an explosive charge.

Washoe County Manager John Slaughter signed a termination of the Emergency Declaration that was initiated by the Board of County Commissioners January 6th.

A fatal accident at Squaw Valley has closed the resort. According to the Placer County Sheriff's office, the incident occurred just after 8:30 Tuesday morning. The man killed, 42 year old Joe (Z-EYE-CHESS) Zuiches from Olympic Valley, had been a member of the resort's ski patrol since 2012.
