Washoe District Court Judge Lidia Stiglich has been appointed to the Nevada Supreme Court effective Jan. 2nd. Stiglich replaces Justice Nancy Saitta who resigned in August. Governor Sandoval called Stiglich highly regarded by her colleagues, as demonstrated by her 96.6 percent retention rating from the Washoe County Bar Association Survey. Stiglich was appointed to Washoe District Court in November 2012 and retained the seat in 2014. She also serves as probate Judge for the district and is also the presiding judge of the Youth Offender Drug Court.

At least a hundred opponents of the president-elect Trump gathered at the Reno City Plaza last night in a show of support for the LGBT community, immigrants, Muslims and others who think they may not fare well under the new administration. Police arrested a 76-year-old Reno man eating lunch at a downtown casino, two hours after he is believed to have robbed a downtown Reno bank. Tommy Ray McAdoo was booked into the Washoe County jail. The Nevada State Bank at One W. Liberty St. was robbed Wednesday about at about 12:25 in the afternoon by a man with a gun. Reno police detectives and the FBI launched an investigation and found the man believed to have robbed the bank two hours later, as he ate lunch. Police say McAdoo admitted his involvement in the robbery.

The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is asking for help finding a man described as "missing or endangered." Lewis Ivey was last reported seen Sunday, in Carson City. Ivey’s roommate reported Ivey was gone and had left his property behind. Ivey has no other family or friends in Carson City or Nevada. Detectives say he may be on foot, possibly walking to Oklahoma. Ivey is 24 years old, 5’1” and 120 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. If Ivey is located contact Carson City Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at 775 887-COPS.
