Well we've almost made it to the finish line, with polls in Nevada set to close in less than an hour.

Even though we had record numbers of early voters, over 120,000 in Washoe County alone, many waited until the general election to vote.

Beyond deciding which presidential nominee will get our state's six electoral votes, Nevada voters in today's election will also issue their verdict in a highly competitive U.S. Senate race, decide two close House contests, and rule on whether Republicans maintain their powerful majority position in the Legislature. The neck-and-neck race for the seat of retiring Sen. Harry Reid is perhaps the most contentious. Outside groups have poured more than $90 million into that race, one of a handful that could decide which party controls the Senate. Democrats notched a six-percentage-point turnout advantage in the two weeks of early voting, but Trump's campaign thinks it can overturn that deficit on Election Day.

Nevada voters will play a big part in today's election, as we will choose a replacement for Sen. Harry Reid in a race that could decide which party controls the U.S. Senate. While polls are open for 12 hours starting at 7 a.m., nearly 53 percent of Nevada's 1.5 million active registered voters have already weighed in through in-person early voting or absentee ballots. Democrats have a six-point lead over Republicans in early voting turnout, but Republicans hold out hope that they'll overcome that deficit today, when they traditionally outperform Democrats.
