The Reno City Council has approved up to $50,000 to hire an independent counsel to investigate allegations of sexual harassment against City Manager Andrew Clinger. The lawyer for the people who've made the complaints says he's happy with the new process, but not with a prior internal probe. Some members of the council, most vocally Jenny Brekhus want Clinger put on administrative leave during the new probe. Clinger denies any wrongdoing.

The management team for the Virginia Mountain Complex of fires just raised the level of containment to 73 percent. The five fires have burned a total of nearly 60-thousand acres. Firefighters have fully contained the Sage, Seven Lakes and Rock Fires. Containment on the Anderson Fire remains at 25 percent although it's expected to increase substantially. The focus of firefighters is primarily on the Tule Fire which is at 35 percent containment after burning more than 30-thousand acres. Virginia Mountain Complex incident spokesman, Jay Aron, says the Tule fire is tough to battle. It's still expected that full containment will be achieved on all five fires this Saturday.

It's expected to take three or four weeks, and could cost up to 50 thousand dollars. Councilmember Jenny Brekhus wants Clinger on administrative leave, and told the Mayor she'll push that issue.
