Birds of a Kind 「みんな鳥になって」(written by Wajdi Mouawad)was staged at Setagaya Public Theatre (Tokyo, Japan) from June 28 to July 21, 2025. In this episode, we interview Arija, the author of the audience guide that left a deep impression on us. She is our very first guest.
Arija is a Muslim from Malaysia. She originally discovered the play as a fan of Yuto Nakajima from Hey! Say! JUMP, and created the guide for Japanese audiences.
Our podcast is usually in Japanese, but since Arija is an English speaker and the interview was conducted mostly in English, so we are releasing this English edition. We are not native English speakers, so there may be moments where our pronunciation, word choice, or grammar are imperfect. We would be grateful if you could listen with kind understanding, and if you notice anything, please let us know in the comments.
Finally, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and respect to Arija for generously accepting this interview.
