Then, the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of Normandy, France and next year’s commemoration of the end of the Second World War is a time to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who fought to defeat fascism. But, the contributions of soldiers of color have too often been overlooked. Writer Linda Hervieux has gone a long way to correcting that historical oversight with her book “Forgotten: The Untold Story of D-Day’s Black Heroes at Home and at War.” She joins Max to discuss her book.
