In this edition of Kratos Chat, we are joined by the highest placing British male in CrossFit Games history, Elliot Simmonds. Elliot is a 3 time games athlete and 5 time regional competitor despite being only 26 years old. He talks about the beginning of his CrossFit career, living in the middle east and how he's matured as an athlete since starting his journey. We also discuss dealing with weaknesses and the current structure of the CrossFit season.
Scott Britton joins us this week as we discuss all things Battle Cancer. Scott founded the charity in 2017 after many of his close friends and loved ones had been affected by the disease. Since then it has raised over £800,000 for cancer charities across the globe, and helped nearly 5,000 athletes. Scott has also competed at several sanctional events and was an elite level powerlifter. We talk about how he founded the charity and how it's impacted the lives of others. And we have the very first edition of 10 in 10!
The big discussion point of today's episode is the future of the CrossFit Games. Once again, we're joined by Alec Harwood and we dissect the potential problems the 2020 Games face and offer our analysis and solutions. Mike and Will also discuss a later announcement surrounding cuts to competitor numbers, who we could see take the competition floor and how it could look at the Ranch.
For the very first episode of Kratos Chat, Alec Harwood drops in to discuss the difficulties of training whilst in quarantine and how to stay motivated. Alec has achieved a podium spot in several Sanctional events this year alongside Mike - as a member of The Athlete Program. He is a seven-time regional athlete and has placed top five in the UK Open four times, as well as being a coach for CrossFit Bath. No equipment? Some equipment? A home gym? All possibilities are covered.
