Traditional harvesters are finding that black seaweed doesn’t look or taste the same. We’ll hear about a new study that might help save the harvest. We’ll also hear from a few more candidates who filed for municipal office in Ketchikan, and how this July was the hottest on record in Alaska overall.

More chinook were landed than expected during the first summer troll opening, and the state has launched a new system allowing survivors to track their sexual assault evidence kits confidentially.

Filing for municipal office opened on Tuesday and the field is growing. We’ll hear about who’s filed so far up until 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Alaska Marine Highway should see three new ferries within the next four years, and two swimmers successfully crossed a seven mile stretch of Frederick Sound near Petersburg.
