Jay’s guest this week is Rob Bovett

Rob Bovett currently serves as Legal Counsel for the Association 

of Oregon Counties (AOC), where he primarily works on policy 

matters relating to governance, elections, ocean issues, and drugs. 

He previously served as the elected District Attorney (2009-2014) 

and appointed Assistant County Counsel (1992-2009) for Lincoln 

County, Oregon. He is the author of many of Oregon’s drug laws, 

including those relating to meth lab control.  

 

Mr. Bovett created numerous state and local initiatives that 

provide science-based solutions to problems caused by substance 

abuse, such as HOPE and other diversionary programs. 

He has authored many opinion pieces on drug policy, including those 

published by The Oregonian and The New York Times, has 

provided over 500 presentations regarding drug policy, and has 

appeared on numerous programs, such as Good Morning Amer

ica,

Sid's recent run for the Republican nomination has given him a unique knowledge of that office and also some insight on running for a statewide office. The one thing we will not discuss tomorrow is Lane County business as we don't want to violate and open meetings laws...This should be interesting, find out why the George Soros helped initiate and fund the "Secretary of State Project".

This week's show will be a live simulcast of the Lane County Budget Committee final public hearing and deliberations as we consider lowering the Jail Levy and approving a budget that closes huge deficits in our General and Road Funds. We won't be taking call-ins but if you want to speak at the public hearing it will begin at 5:30 in Harris Hall at 125 E.8th Ave. in Eugene.

Next week, on the 25th, we will begin a new scheduled time for the Boze Noze Show of Wednesdays at 4:00 pm. I am hoping that I can get guest more easily earlier in the day as well as avoid conflicts with Commissioner's business that sometimes happens on the Thursday evenings like this week.

We are all frustrated with the news services "thinking" that they really know what the American voter is interested in knowing. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to directly comment or ask a question to the candidate yourself and actually have them answer you?
