Today we sit down with Kristina Dulaney RN, PMH-C. A nurse, mom, and postpartum psychosis survivor. She has been a registered nurse for over 10 years and founded a non-profit, http://www.cherishedmom.org/ (Cherished Mom), dedicated to educating moms, families, and the community. She has also co-founded a local organization in her community with dedicated professionals to make a change.
She spent two weeks in the psychiatric unit at 5 1/2 months postpartum. She shares her story to ignite change, share information and resources with hope for a movement to support moms and families surrounding the number one complication of childbirth, perinatal mood, and anxiety disorders. She has made it her mission to help other moms and families so they are not blindsided the way she was, even as a nurse.
