THE SHIELDWALL, Episode 2

A king with his own frontier on fire rode 250 miles to save a Christian city that was not his, for men who were his enemies.

Live from the farm. First, Christian nationalists at war with each other while the horde is at the bottom of the hill. Then Vienna, 1683, told from inside the wall: the baker who held two months with a musket he did not know how to fire, Kara Mustafa's army under the bastions, the two prayers on either side of the valley, and Jan Sobieski and the winged hussars coming down the Kahlenberg. Then the man three valleys over from you who is on that wall tonight, and a walk through THE FORGE.

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God." (Psalm 20:7, ESV)

They are coming for your family. In 732, farmers and veterans stood in one line at Tours and held. The battle that saved Christian Europe, told from inside the shield wall. Then how Charles Martel turned farmers into the line, what that means for a man today, and why we are building a church again. "Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle;" (Psalm 144:1, ESV) DAILY ACTION This week, write your household's one-page plan for a home invasion: what guns and where they are, who calls 911, where the kids go and who gets them there, and where the fight happens, on ground you chose so only you can win it. Then sit down with your wife and walk her through it. Watch the full episode: https://youtu.be/YKyzR3H36wI Krossfarer is open. Join by October 31 and you are a Vanguard Founder.  Krossfarer Church, Lord's Day, October 4, 2026.
The first service. I never wanted to plant a church. I wanted to run a men's ministry. For almost six years, my family looked for a church we could belong to, and what we found was a wasteland. So we built what we could not find. Christ already wrote His verdict on the churches in seven letters, Revelation 2 and 3. We hold every church up to them, this one first: 1. Crazy and Corrupt 2. Cold and Dead 3. Consumer and Common 4. Charismatic and Emotional 5. Cowardly 6. Careless 7. Crowd and Coddling

TEXT: Matthew 16:13-19; Revelation 1:12-20; Revelation 2 and 3 (ESV) PREACHING: Pastor Jason Perry If you have never turned from your sin and trusted Christ, reach out this week. If you have gone cold, gone soft, or gone missing from your brothers, come back to the table.

Next Sunday: the seven letters begin with Ephesus, Revelation 2:1-7. Watch the full service: https://youtu.be/UupsvZ9EdEE Krossfarer Church. Live every Sunday, 11 AM ET, on YouTube and Facebook. https://krossfarer.church

A cave, a crownless warrior, and a praise song that refuses to wait for better circumstances—Psalm 34 hits different when you know where it was written. We walk through David’s flight into enemy territory, the choice to act insane to survive, and the moment humiliation turned into a testimony that still trains souls under pressure today. The result is not a lecture but a field manual: fear God, not man; guard your tongue; turn from evil; do good; seek peace and actually pursue it.

We start with our three-battle framework—humility before God, deliberate pursuit of Christ through Scripture and prayer, and locking shields for one another—then dive into the psalm line by line. You’ll hear why praise is a weapon, how the fear of the Lord disarms every lesser fear, and why righteous character is not “soft” but combat readiness for the soul. We confront the hard truth that the righteous face many afflictions and pair it with the promise that the Lord delivers from them all. Along the way we trace the prophetic thread, “not one of his bones is broken,” and see how Christ fulfills the psalm as the righteous One who redeems His people.

If your week feels like a cave—noisy, tight, and heavy—this study offers a way to stand: disciplined speech, steady pursuit of peace, and a testimony that strengthens the shield wall around you. Expect practical takeaways for your home, habits, body, finances, and fellowship, all anchored in the nearness of God to the brokenhearted. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs courage, and leave a review to help more people find a field manual of hope under fire.

The wall stood tall, but the people were still cracked inside. That’s the tension we unpack as we walk through Nehemiah 9–10: a city secured by stone and a community finally brave enough to face its sin, tell the truth out loud, and sign their names to real change. We trace how public confession, fasting, and the reading of the Law uncovered the true breach—hearts divided by compromise—and how God’s steadfast mercy became the ground where courage could grow.

We revisit the arc from exile to rebuilding and show why renewal always follows a pattern: hear the word, confess the breach, pledge obedience. From intermarriage that pulled affections away from God to Sabbath neglect and debt slavery, the issues feel uncomfortably current. The turning point comes when leaders lead: a written covenant, sealed with names, that commits the community to purity in marriage, Sabbath discipline, worship in order, financial first fruits, and accountability that actually loves people toward holiness.

Then we bring it home. We map those ancient vows to seven modern battlefields—faith, family, fitness, fundamentals, finances, fellowship, and fidelity—and get practical about what obedience looks like this week. Read and pray with purpose. Lead your home with confession and courage. Train your body to serve others. Sharpen skills that make you useful. Tithe and budget to dethrone greed. Lock shields with faithful friends. Keep your word when it costs. Finally, we challenge you to write a household covenant: what ends now, what begins today, what you will guard and build, whom you will serve, and how you will honor Christ—signed and posted where you live.

If this moved you, subscribe for more warrior-minded teaching, share it with a friend who needs strength, and leave a review so others can find the show. Your wall may be up; now let’s rebuild the heart and stand our post together.

The room gets quiet when we stop clapping and start counting the cost. We speak directly to veterans who signed a blank check and to believers who feel the pull to do more than offer thanks. The theater has changed—no longer soil and flags, but souls and eternity—and we lay out a mission brief that is clear, courageous, and grounded in scripture.

We start by honoring veterans as image bearers who have practiced greater love, naming the weight they carried and the wounds they still carry. Then we define the ethos that guides our movement: readiness from Luke 22, perimeter from Nehemiah 4, armor from Ephesians 6, tactics from Jude 23, and orders from Matthew 28. The result is a posture that is meek yet unshakable—power under control, deployed for the weak and the needy. We address a hard truth about church culture: baptisms without discipleship leave sheep to the slaughter. The fix is biblical and practical—teach obedience, build real fellowship, keep comms open, and measure success by transformed lives.

You’ll hear a step-by-step SOP designed for the veteran community but fit for every street: identify the prisoner, close the distance with compassion, open the Book, and escort them into the shield wall of church and small group. We set rules of engagement to protect both rescuer and rescued: go two by two, same-sex care for sensitive issues, meet in public first, maintain sobriety, escalate wisely, and involve authorities when safety is at stake. We name the real enemy—deception that blinds minds—and refuse to treat people as targets to hate. They are captives to rescue, and success looks like eyes opened, lives transferred from darkness to light, and steady disciples who then rescue others.

We close with seven battlefields—faith, family, fitness, fundamentals, finances, fellowship, and fidelity—because a resilient life sustains a relentless mission. If you’ve laid down your sword, this is your call to repent, reload, and report for duty. Subscribe, share this with a veteran you love, and leave a review with one name you’re moving toward this week—who will you pull from the fire?
