More often than not, it really is that deep to you and you need to own it! People tend to undermine other people's experiences because they are so convinced they've gone through far worse, or they just don't get it. Whatever the case, your pursuit for healing should not depend on their validition. You finding it traumatic is validation enough.

So stop over explaining yourself to people who lack empathy /capacity for your pain, and get the help you need from those who can provide it!

Your understanding of the importance of self-care may be standing in the way of you and your dreams. Whilst self-care is important, a lot of us are using it as an excuse to delay our tasks for later, which eventually costs us in the long run.
