He walked out of a poker game... and was never seen again.

In November 2002, 20-year-old Joshua Guimond vanished from the campus of Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. A driven student, class president, aspiring lawyer, and someone everyone described as responsible, Josh simply disappeared after getting up from a card game, not saying goodbye to anyone.

His keys, car, glasses, and belongings were all left behind in his dorm. Search dogs traced his scent to a bridge before it suddenly stopped. Massive searches turned up nothing. As the investigation unfolded, new questions emerged involving deleted computer files, conflicting witness statements, troubling allegations surrounding the campus Abbey, and theories that ranged from an accidental hit-and-run to the possibility that Josh met with someone in secret that night.

More than two decades later, Joshua Guimond has never been found, and the mystery remains one of Minnesota's most haunting missing person cases.

We told you we'd be back with an update once sentencing happened. It happened this week, and we have a lot to say about it.

Quick recap if you need it: from the 1990s through the 2010s, an ogre of a man used Craigslist to target small, vulnerable women across New York, lured them to his own home, and killed them there. Rex Heuermann has been tied to eight victims. This week we break down what happened inside the courtroom during sentencing; the victim impact statements, what Rex said when given the chance to speak, and the judge's response to him. Several family members didn't hold back, and two statements in particular are ones we won't forget anytime soon.

Rex Heuermann was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. After more than thirty long years since his rein on terror began, there's finally some accountability.
