Kvetch

The show may be called Kvetch and Kvell, but we all know that Darone does more kvetching than kvelling, but this week he is trying to change that a bit. Today’s episode comes from a Facebook post he wrote at the end of the day on Thursday, June 6.

So, did you see the joke about Anne Frank taking a selfie in a bikini. Did you follow the aftermath where the Harvard humor magazine the lampoon apologized for making the joke. Well, obviously this is a topic that Darone is going to want to kvetch about, but his kvetch may not be what you expected.

Take a listen, and let us know if you think he is correct or totally off-base.

This week Darone has quite a kvetch. When the Museum of Jewish Heritage decided they needed a new url for their latest exhibit, they had lots of urls that they could choose from. The one they chose, is just kvetch (or maybe even kringe)-worthy.

What do you think? Does the url they chose make it seem like the newest Disney attraction in Times Square?

This year Darone insisted that he wasn’t going to do a Pesach episode complaining about all of the things people complain about on Pesach (the Seder is too long, nobody enjoys matza, kashering the house is so exhausting, KP Cheese is yucky, why is everything so expensive…) but that didn’t mean he couldn’t find something to do an episode about.

Is it a Kvell? Is it a Kvetch? Take a listen and decide for yourself.

Darone likes Jewish music, well some Jewish music. Jewish parody music, you know when they take a regular pop song, and make it Jewish, or some of the songs by Adam Sandler, yuck. They all go to the lowest denominator and focus on stereotypes and, well, it is just something that Darone felt the need to Kvetch about this week

With seven Purim Kvetches in the bag, what possible issue could Darone still have to Kvetch about with regards to Purim? Take a listen to find out just what he is so annoyed about this year!

When Darone said he wanted to do an episode on this one, everyone at JCast Headquarters were scratching our heads, but then when we heard what he had recorded, we all sort of agreed.

Not sure if it is a kvetch, or a kvell, and not sure how Jewish it is, but it is a fun ride with Darone this week.

It must be in our DNA! Every parent needs to have the fight, as they were on the other side of the argument when they were children. Even when your children enjoy prayer, no one enjoys getting ready for shul…

What in the world could frustrate him soo much? You will have to listen to find out.

In a rare Kvell, Darone talks about the enjoyment he gets when he hears his children singing the songs and prayers they learn at school to themselves in the shower. It is somehow the combination of their voices and realizing that it is these special songs that are on their lips, that just make Darone melt.

It’s MLK Day today, and the kids are off from school. Since the election of Barak Obama, MLK Day has in many places become a day of service, and wouldn’t it be nice to spend the day doing just that, sure? Is it possible… not so much, and that reality has really got Darone Kvetching today!
