KVGT Podcast

This weeks episode was a bit of a mismatch of late recording and late posting, but it’s here!  I have no excuse other than I didn’t realize it was Tuesday yesterday.  Anyway, it was just Jeremy and Patrick this week.  Read on for some awesome videos!

It’s a short list when it comes to what we’ve been playing this week.  Jeremy only played Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn while Gears of War: Judgement, Grand Theft Auto V, and Angry Birds Star Wars II were all that was on Patrick’s list!

Jeremy talks a bit about the upcoming National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) and then we got down and dirty with news, including sales numbers of the whole Pokemon series, the promise of dedicated servers for Xbox One games, Activision Blizzard splitting from their parent company, the announcement of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, Borderlands 2 DLC, some really good pre-order bonuses from Microsoft, Dragon Quest VIII’s mobile phone release, and Halo 3 free for Gold members!

Enjoy!

It’s been too long since we recorded, sorry about that!  I could make up excuses, but instead lets just get to the awesome episode.  This week it was a full cast, Frank, Patrick, and Jeremy.  We did our best to catch up on what we missed.  So without further adieu, here we go!

It’s only been a short time since episode 130 was released, but here’s 131!  The delay was a culmination of a lot of things, ranging from my new job and school to ALMOST losing the episode!   Anyway, this was a fun episode to record, just me and Patrick this week, though.

Not much to share in the show notes this week, so I’ll go into a bit more detail than I have been about what we’ve been playing.  I’ve been very limited with time and only had a chance to play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, got my main class to 26 and my secondary class to 17!

Patrick played some Gears of War: Judgement (of course), Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Halo 4, Madden 25, the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, and Warframe, which will be a day 1 Playstation 4 Plus game!

After the break, Patrick wanted to share his new found love for the TV show Cut-throat Kitchen, a must watch cooking show!

In news, it was a lot of Xbox One info, such as their first TV spot (see above), the officail release date, the new rewards program for Gold members, and how many controllers it’ll support!  There was also talk about the new PoKeMoN cloud service, the rough start that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn had, new additions to the upcoming UFC game, and Madden 25’s poor sale numbers.

Thanks for listening!

Due to the delay in publishing this episode for a myriad of reasons, I’m going to skip the formal show notes and just give you what you want!  I did want to say that it was all three of us this week, Jeremy, Frank, and Patrick, and it was a fun episode!

OH MY!  What have we done?  This episode not only went longer than expected, but surpassed our longest episode up to this point!  The only episode that was longer was 004, but we split that in half!  However, in the interest of keeping it consistent, we decided not to do that here.

So what did we talk about for so long?  VIDEO GAMES!  Honestly, there was some amazing conversations in this one, so don’t miss out!  It was Jeremy, Frank, and Patrick this week.

Oh, you want to know what KIND of video games we talked about?  Well, we talked about playing Suikoden II, Suikoden I, Madden 25, Saints Row The Third, Gears of War: Judgement, Bioshock: Infinite, Left 4 Dead 2, Mortal Kombat Arcade, State of Decay, Painkiller: Hell & Damnation, The Last of Us.

And in news, we talk Guild Wars 2 sales, Sony’s TV partner, Resident Evil 6’s current price drop, 3DS sales numbers, changes to Xbox.com, the presidential pack coming to Saints Row IV, Xbox One’s delay around the world, That Dragon, Cancer coming to OUYA, the price of Infinity, a new PoKeMoN anime coming out, Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse pre-order bonus, more on the Assassin’s Creed movie, the Batman Arkham Origins collectors edition, NCAA problems, Ultra Street Fighter IV PC release, and how Xbox gives up everything they stood for..oh I mean they changed the feature of Kinect having to always be on!

AND!! In our newest segment (currently unnamed), Jeremy talked about the Revolution TV show!

You’ll notice a few things different about this weeks episode.  The first is Frank doing the opening!  He did such a great job, I may just have to switch off with him once in awhile.  Secondly, this episode is sans myself.  Despite what I’m sure Patrick has said on the episode, I took this week off for my birthday!  So there it is, Happy Birthday to me.

That’s right, I Happy birthdayed myself!  Got a problem with that?

Okay, good.  Now, lets see…these guys didn’t play too much this week, with Gears of War: Judgement being the only “normal” one.  Frank played some Suikoden II, Saints Row The Third, and Fable III, while Patrick continued his time in The Last of Us.

In news, there’s talk about the ‘2013 Essential Facts About the Computer and Video Game Industry’ especially girl gamers, Cory Barlog comes back to Sony, hints of a new Uncharted game, Microsoft points officially changed to local currency, Target lowering PS Vita’s price to $199 from August 18th to the 24th, and some brand new Injustice: Gods Among Us DLC!

That’s it, that’s all they did, so sit through an episode without me and rejoice next week when I’ll be back!

P.S. sorry about the lack of media, there really wasn’t’ anything to share this week!

An interesting episode this week, with Frank joining us half way through due to some miscommunication.  Patrick was really into his “What We’ve Been Playing” this week, and you know there is a Gears of War on that list!

Other than Gears of War, Patrick also played Madden ’13, State of Decay, Dead Space 3, and The Last of us.  As for Jeremy, it was Suikoden all week long (oh, and a bit of Suikoden II)!

In news, we looked at Playstation All-Stars going down the drain, the new Everquest game called Everquest Next (and it’s Landmark add-on), some of the new changes in PoKeMoN X/Y, Good Guy Electronic Arts (not often said) raises some money for AIDS, a complete Elder Scrolls bundle coming soon, some Bioshock Infinite DLC, an expensive Morokei Dragon Priest statute, the upcoming Tomb Raider sequel, a bit of relief to the OUYA Kickstarter backers, new Alice shorts coming soon, and the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Benchmark and Character Creator now available.

This week we have Jeremy, Frank and Patrick on the mic and what a title this one has!  Don’t worry, you’ll have a “I see what you did there” moment while listening.  Leave it to host Patrick to “create” such a unique title!  Don’t worry, that’s not all we talk about!  Expect some Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Fez II, Gran Turismo, and more!

Between the three of us, we played Suikoden, State of Decay, Defense Grid: The Awakening, Madden 2006 to 2013, Gears of War: Judgement, Black Ops II, Dead Space 3, The Walking Dead: 400 Days, Kingdom Hearts, The Last of Us, and Patrick’s favorite, Angry Birds Star Wars!

In news, we talk about what’s to come post-release for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the upcoming Gran Turismo Movie (and why we DON’T need it), another Phil Fish blowup, more subscriber losses for World of Warcraft, the upcoming Ultra Street Fighter IV, LaBron James picks for the NBA 2K14 soundtrack, Square Enix’ summer sale, and the Call of Duty devs get some death threats.

After an unscheduled week off, we had a lot to say and ended up well over an hour long!  It was a lot of fun and talked about everything from Final Fantasy III and Madden ’95 all the way to the newly released 400 Days.  Continue on to see the full show notes, links, and even a GTA V Trailer!
