Today Kym McNicholas is joined by Match.Com Co-Founder, Fran Maier. At the top of the show Kym will ask Fran about the entrepreneurial journey that has led to her becoming named of the most influential women in the Bay Area business and the Top 25 Women in Tech. Fran then talks about the many different aspects of marketing and how she immediately saw world wide web as a revolution to marketing. She then tells us how the idea for Match.Com was conceived as an appealing alternative to sleazy personals and the decisions she made that has led to its success.
Later on Kym and Fran discuss the declining amount of women in computer related jobs since 1990 by drawing possible connections between marketing and the first home computers. Fran then addresses gender inequalities in the tech world which ultimately ended her time with Match.Com through lack of support. Fran and Kym also chat with John who believes online dating will shift to be more like social networking.
Don't forget about our upcoming seminar at Four Points by Sheraton San Jose Airport on May 19th where Rob Black and I will explain how to build a retirement portfolio that last. Registration is only $5 so click HERE to sign up!
