Another blow to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office: A former top official within the office has been suspended from practicing in Federal court for three years, accused of lying to a judge to overturn a death penalty sentence. A man is in stable condition after being shot in the stomach on a Market Frankford L train in Center City this afternoon. KYW's John McDevitt reports that police are looking for the shooter.

A Philadelphia police officer suffered minor injuries Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle while pursuing a suspect on foot.

It happened just before 10 a.m. at Front and Duncannon Streets in Olney.

Police say the officer was running after a man wanted for domestic assault when he was hit by a car.

The 38-year-old driver remained at the scene and was not charged.

The injured officer was taken to the hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his hands and head.

The suspect who was being pursued was taken into custody.

An Atlantic City police officer shot in the line of duty earlier this month is on his way home. He was released from the hospital Thursday morning. KYW Newsradio South Jersey reporter Mike Dougherty has more.

Bill Wine, a former KYW Newsradio and Fox 29 movie critic, has died. He was 81.

Wine joined the KYW team in 2001 and spent 17 years on the airwaves, offering his weekly takes on the latest movies.

He also served as Fox 29’s film critic — where he won three Emmy Awards — and saw his work published in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Daily News and Village Voice.

Wine was also a longtime educator, teaching writing and film at La Salle University for nearly 30 years.

Wine died on June 14. No cause of death was given.

Minor League Baseball team York Revolution has canceled Thursday night's game -- on what was supposed to be Pride Night. That's because some players refused to wear rainbow-colored jerseys.

The team says hosting the Pride event is "more important than forcing players to wear jerseys they are not comfortable with and playing the game."

They're forfeiting the game, but they're still holding a Pride celebration Thursday night at WellSpan Park. It'll be free to attend. The team is also making a $10,000 donation to the Rainbow Rose Center, which serves the LGBTQ community in York County.
