Police departments in several South Jersey communities are reminding residents to lock their car doors after a recent increase in auto thefts and break-ins.KYW's John McDevitt reports.

Monroe Township in Gloucester County recently banned all data centers form the township. However, a special hearing was held Tuesday night for an application that was submitted prior to ordinances going into effect.

The application was deemed incomplete and the planning board unanimously denied the Hexa Builders' redevelopment plan.

Residents spoke out against the idea of an AI data center fearing it would strain local energy and water resources.

Philadelphia police are investigating after a shooting in the city's Overbrook neighborhood left a man fighting for his life.

According to officials, the shooting occurred near North 54th Street and Morse Street Wednesday evening.

The man is critical.

Investigators have not figured out a motive, and don't have descriptions of any suspects.

A Bucks County man admitted to a federal judge that he detonated an explosive device under his former boss’ car in South Jersey last year.

Michael Takacs, 44, of Warminster pleaded guilty to transporting an explosive and could spend a decade in prison.

Takacs was fired last spring. Months later, authorities say he drove to the house of his former boss in Delran and placed a homemade explosive device filled with nails under the car, and then hid nearby to detonate it using a remote.

They say he was successful, but no one was hurt and that Takacs only wanted to intimidate his former boss.

Takacs is set to be sentenced in the fall.
