  • Pa. House passes bill that would make data centers foot the bill for increased energy costs
Data centers would foot the bill for increased energy costs under legislation passed by the Pennsylvania House.
Centers also would have to get about a third of their electricity from in-state renewable sources by the middle of the next decade. And, they'd have to pay into LIHEAP and other low-income assistance programs.
Democratic state Rep. Rob Matzie says his bill protects people while allowing Pennsylvania "to reap the tremendous economic benefits data centers can bring."
The bill now heads to the state Senate.

  • Rocky statue making temporary move inside Philadelphia Museum of Art for new exhibit
Rocky is no match for the moving crews. He's not expected to even try to fight back when the statue is removed today from the bottom of the Art Museum steps. (Maybe he's looking forward to getting out of the elements for once.)
The statue, owned by the city, will be on display *inside* the museum starting late next month. It's part of an exhibition called "Rising Up: Rocky and the Making of Monuments."
The *other* Rocky, loaned by Sylvester Stallone, will remain at the top of the steps until August. It will then go back to the actor's collection and be replaced by the original statue when that one heads back outside.

  • Central Bucks School Board selects next superintendent
Central Bucks School District leaders have selected the candidate they want to be the next superintendent.
Officials say school directors have chosen Dr. Joanna M. Wexler.
She's currently the assistant superintendent at Great Valley School District in Malvern.
In a statement, Dr. Wexler says, pending her appointment, she's looking forward to working with the Central Bucks community to ensure every student has the support they need.
Wexler will be introduced to community members at a public forum on April 8th at CB West High School in Doylestown.
The board will vote on her appointment at a special meeting on April 14th.
Last year, Dr. Steven Yanni was fired after allegations of abuse inside the classroom were made against a special needs teacher and aid.
