A Pennsylvania lawmaker is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who attacked a crossing guard.
On Monday afternoon, police in Darby, Delaware County, say a man punched a crossing guard outside Walnut Elementary School.
Officials say the guard — a woman in her early 30s — was helping children off a school bus, and the suspect was angry that the intersection had been temporarily shut down.
State Sen. Anthony Williams, who represents parts of Delco and Philadelphia, is offering $5,000 to anyone who has information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
Williams called the attack "an outrageous and despicable act of cowardice."
The issue will likely be further addressed at a Darby Borough Council meeting Wednesday evening.
