If you get a text claiming that you have to appear in court for failing to pay Pennsylvania Turnpike tolls, ignore it. It's a scam.
Philadelphia Courts said it has been seeing a lot of these texts. The top of the messages reads "Notice of Hearing - TOLL VIOLATION." It tells you to "appear for a hearing" or resolve the matter by "payment of the assessed civil penalty ... prior to the hearing date."
There's also a QR code for payment in the text -- do not scan it!
The courts said it will never send a text message demanding payment for any toll, parking or other violations. It also won't ask you for your Social Security number or credit card information over the phone or by text.
