According to police in Montgomery County, two parents came to them last Thursday, concerned about their son’s girlfriend after her recent interaction with a man.

New Jersey authorities have arrested and charged a juvenile they say fatally shot another child over the weekend.

Ocean County prosecutors say officers were called to an area along Pearl Street in Lakewood Township just after 8:15 p.m. Sunday for reports of a child shot.

There, they found a boy with a gunshot wound to his back. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Police later arrested a juvenile in connection with the shooting.

Neither that child nor the victim has been identified.

There's no word from police on what led up to the shooting.

The juvenile is charged with murder and weapons offenses and is being held at a county juvenile detention center.
