  • Trump endorses Stacy Garrity for governor of Pennsylvania
President Donald Trump has endorsed Stacy Garrity for governor of Pennsylvania. He said on Truth Social that the Republican candidate and current state treasurer is a "true America First Patriot" who has been with him from the beginning.
"SHE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!" Trump wrote.
Garrity is challenging Gov. JoshShapiro. The state Democratic Party said Trump's endorsement confirms "Garrity is an extreme, toxic candidate who is running to bring [the President's] dangerous and chaotic Washington agenda here to Pennsylvania."

  • PPA only enforcing on-street safety violations as ice buildup persists
The Philadelphia Parking Authority's offices will be open on Wednesday. However, enforcement officers will only hand out tickets for on-street safety violations. That includes things like parking in front of fire hydrants, parking in bus zones, blocking handicapped ramps, double parking, or stopping in a "no stopping" zone.
Also, the $5 discounted snow emergency garage rate will end at 9 a.m. After that time, all PPA garages will charge their usual rates.
If your car was towed during the snow emergency, call 215-686-SNOW or visit philapark.org/tow to find your vehicle.

  • Gov. Shapiro throws support behind city's lawsuit over removal of Independence Mall slavery exhibit
Gov. Josh Shapiro has thrown his support behind the city of Philadelphia's lawsuit against the federal government over the removal of slavery exhibits from the President's House on Independence Mall. Shapiro filed a brief in support of the city. He called out President Donald Trump, saying he'll "take any opportunity to rewrite and whitewash our history." He says, "In Pennsylvania, we learn from our history, even when it's painful."
Last Thursday, exhibits detailing the lives of nine of George Washington's slaves were removed from the President's House at Sixth and Market streets. A Department of the Interior spokesperson tied the move to an executive order from last March that claimed depictions of slavery cast America's history in a negative light.
The first hearing in the city's lawsuit is set for Friday in federal court.
