Federal investigators are getting involved in the case of Ellen Greenberg, the school teacher who was found stabbed to death in her Manayunk apartment in 2011.
The medical examiner at the time first ruled her death a homicide, but then changed it to suicide. Her family has fought for years to get that changed, and they reached a settlement with the city last year.
A new medical examiner performed a review of the case but also ruled Greenberg's death a suicide.
Now, sources told NBC10 that the U.S. Attorney's Office has requested documents from the Philadelphia Police Department and other agencies. The U.S. Attorney's Office would not comment.
