Three students fell through the ice while they were walking on a frozen lake in Mount Holly, Burlington County.
It happened Wednesday afternoon at Woolman Lake. One boy was able to escape the frozen water, but the two girls he was with became partially submerged up to their chests. Police officers were able to guide the girls closer to the edge and threw them a rope that they were able to use to get out of the water.
All three of the students were checked out at the hospital, and they are all OK.
The Mount Holly Township Police Department urged everyone to avoid walking on bodies of water that appear frozen, because the thickness of the ice can vary and be unpredictable.
