People in Philadelphia will have an opportunity to get training for jobs in growing industries thanks to $8 million in donations. KYW Newsradio’s City Hall bureau chief Pat Loeb reports.

The trial of two of the men accused of killing Philadelphia police Sgt. Richard Mendez two years ago at the airport is expected to begin Wednesday. KYW spoke with Mendez's widow Alexandra back in June, and she said she didn't know what to expect. The defendants are also among a group indicted in New Jersey, accused in a home-invasion and car-theft ring. KYW Newsradio Crime and Justice reporter Kristen Johanson has more.

A man was shot in the arm near Penn's campus Tuesday night. It happened around 10 p.m. outside the Cinemark Theater at 40th and Walnut streets. Police say there was some sort of argument before the shooting.

He was taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery. Police haven't said what his condition is.

The shooter got away in a Silver Ford Taurus. Police found the car about a mile and a half away at 49th and Aspen streets, but they're still looking for the suspect.

SEPTA canceled two dozen Regional Rail trains for the third day in a

Police in Glassboro are looking for a man who stole a car from a Wawa on Friday night. Surveillance video from the store shows three men inside. One of them got into a car that was left running and unlocked and he drove off.

Authorities say this is the second time in two weeks that a car was stolen after being left running in the parking lot at this store.
