Septa is delaying the purchase of new buses, the start of an accessibility project, and other construction projects because of its budget crisis.

Students at North Penn High School will now go through a gun detection system every day after a student brought a gun to school on Tuesday. Parents have been calling on the school to make the system permanent. KYW Newsradio’s Vik Raghupathi has more.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy are sparring back and forth over SEPTA safety and funding. Delaware State Police say a 54-year-old bus driver was preparing to conduct an emergency exit drill between two parked buses outside Gauger-Cobbs Middle School around 7 a.m. on Thursday, when one of the buses drifted forward and struck her. Investigators do not know why the bus moved.
