Ian O'Meara and Monica Disselkoen then lead us into a time of announcements and prayer by a member of the LJCC prayer team. Pastor Steve Murray then comes up to give the Easter Sunday message. Pastor Murray makes a reference to many Scripture verses, including Colossians 1:15-20, John 20:30-31, and Colossians 1:21022. Steve's sermon is followed by an offering, including songs, "How Deep The Father's Love For Us" - solo by Deirdre Close, and "Christ Is Enough." Pastor Steve Murray then closes out the sermon with a Benediction. The following is a recording of the Good Friday Family Service on Friday, April 19, 2019 at La Jolla Community Church. The service begins with a welcome by Pastor Steve Murray. Jonathan Kim (guest worship leader) then leads the LJCC Worship Band (Haley Courtney - vocals / acoustic guitar, Jonathan Kim - Electric Guitar / vocals, Monica Disselkoen - Piano / vocals, Annabelle Terbetski - Viola, Craig Disselkoen - Cajon) sing "The Wonderful Cross" and "In Christ Alone." Pastor Steve Murray then comes back up to give the message of the evening on the events leading up to the cross, including the seven last words of Christ. After each of the seven words a member of the congregation comes up to read a passage and pray. Ryan Silvia comes up after Steve's message to explain the stations. Six engaging and interactive stations allow participants to pray and reflect on Scripture. LJCC also included prayer and Communion stations.As people participated in the stations the worship band sung songs such as "Nothing But The Blood of Jesus", "How Deep the Father's Love For Us", and "Scandal of Grace." Pastor Murray ends the service by giving a Benediction. Those in attendance leave in silence and are encouraged to participate by giving to the Benevolence Fund offering as they leave.
