(The Center Square) — The Los Angeles park at the heart of a federal horse-mounted raid Monday has long been a hotbed of criminal activity. The international MS-13 gang originated nearby, and decades of reporting noted the park’s centrality in the sale of fake identification to illegal immigrants and its function as the city’s largest open-air drug market.
