Francis Howard is a member of the small, prestigious, global Q Grader community. Trained and certified after passing a rigorous battery of over 20 tests, Q Graders set the standard for coffee excellence around the world. Recently, we sent Francis a bag of Freedom Roast and I sat down with him for a special LAB episode to talk coffee and hear his expert review of our LAB Freedom Roast. Don’t miss the chance to hear how Francis went from sipping coffee from styrofoam cups in Akron, Ohio, to serving on the team who opened Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan, Italy.

Dotti Groover-Skipper may be one of the bravest and most loving people I know. Her team at HeartDance Foundation is sharing the life and beauty of the gospel in some of the darkest places in our city. Dotti joins me on this episode to share from her experience knowing and loving people in Tampa’s strip club industry. We talk honestly about pornography, human dignity and the realities of the $75 billion dollar strip club industry.
HeartDance is the recipient of our first 2021 LAB Initiative contribution. We are so grateful for Dotti and her team. Don’t miss this opportunity to get to know her and learn how you can pray and support the HeartDance Foundation.

It takes tremendous courage and vulnerability to share the deep and real things within us. Maybe that is why it is so powerful and transformational when someone does. Well, with beauty and grace, Author and Poet, Ainsley Box, leads in that way with her new book, Inside Her Heart. I sat down with Ainsley to talk about her book, the power of poetry and nourishing the creative gift.

Late in 2020, I found myself growing weary in the face of ongoing uncertainty and fear. It was in that moment I was introduced to artist Delwin Eiland and his song, “This Uncertain Year.” As we get a little distance from 2020, Delwin and I sat down to talk about the song and hear how he gave voice to something so many of us were feeling. Delwin is one of those wise and humble voices that are good for the soul. I can’t wait to share the song and the conversation with you! Download “This Uncertain Year” and share it with your friends and family. It will be good for the heart!

We are alive in an exciting moment with fresh opportunities for faith and science to reveal the wonder of our world. I had the honor of sharing some time with author, professor and founder of the C.S. Lewis Society, Dr. Tom Woodward. The conversation opens with Dr. Woodward's story of faith coming alive at Princeton and then expands as he shares how his love for science led him to explore DNA and discover remarkable beauty in our design. Dr. Woodward is brilliant, humble and was gracious enough to even take some time to explain MRNA and his thoughts on the new COVID vaccine.

In October of 2020, V3 was able to help support the efforts to rescue a young girl in Brazil from human trafficking. I sat down with Alley Kelley, Hear the Cry-Brazil, for a first hand account of God’s miraculous intervention to set a young captive free. Don’t miss this important conversation about human trafficking, the 2021 LAB Initiative and light saying to the darkness, “We beg to differ.”
