Amanda Brinkman created the viral “nasty woman” t-shirt after a certain Orange Man referred to Hillary Clinton by that name...and in just one night, she sold 10,000 shirts. So she created the company Shrill Society, where she donates half of her proceeds to organizations like Planned Parenthood, the ACLU and the Houston Food Bank. That's $136,000 and counting.

At Border Angels, or Angeles de la Frontera, Jacqueline manages a project that might seem simple...but helps save thousands of migrant lives. She leads trips called “water drops,” leaving water jugs along immigration routes in the California desert. To give some context on just how important that work is, about 9,000 migrants have died crossing the border since the mid-1990s, and health risks like dehydration pose a major threat along a dangerous journey. In this episode, Jacqueline tells the emotional reasons why she got involved with Border Angels, and how her volunteer work has changed her life.

Shannon’s a mom of five who was heartbroken after the Sandy Hook school shooting in December 2012. A day after the shooting, she started a Facebook group asking Americans to do more to reduce gun violence. That group would eventually become an organization called Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. And since then, Shannon’s been called “the NRA’s worst nightmare.” In the past five years, Moms Demand Action has formed chapters in all 50 states, built up a membership of 4 million supporters, and earned the financial backing of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. We talked with Shannon about passing common-sense laws to keep women and families (and everyone) safer.

Her relentlessness has earned her a MacArthur Genius Grant, and she's made Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World list. Ai-jen is executive director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, or the NDWA, which helps protect our country’s millions of housekeepers, nannies and other caregivers, many of whom are women. And she’s co-director of Caring Across Generations, which she co-founded to help elders get affordable care and to help caregivers get quality jobs. Through the program My Sister's Keeper, Osub Ahmed helps college women create powerful change on their campuses. Opening up conversations about sexual health and domestic violence. Promoting policies that keep women safe. Advocating for reproductive justice. The Brooklyn fashion line, worn by celebrities like Selena Gomez and Zendaya, recently made headlines for helping support the ACLU's fight against the Travel Ban. Céline creates each of her capsule collections to advocate for human rights and environmental awareness, and to raise money for an anti-dumpster-fire nonprofit she loves.

She's a Latinx designer and illustrator who's busting stereotypes and fighting for immigration rights in Texas, all through the power of art. Yocelyn's a longtime activist, but recently she's made a name for herself on social media through her illustrations advocating for DREAMers, Latinx representation and disaster relief.
