Misty Witherspoon was sentenced to life in prison without parole on July 15, 2007 for the shooting death of her police officer husband, for his life insurance. After multiple stories portraying a series of improbable events, police realized that stuff just wasn't adding up and they needed to dig a bit deeper into what actually happened on that fateful day.

Even after the proof showed Misty's guilt and the motive was clear as day...her husband's family AND their church community stood behind her all the way. They didn't believe that she could ever intentionally kill her husband.
