Diapause: When an insect goes dormant (stops growing or developing) to survive the cold. Similar to hibernation.
Glycerol: A chemical compound some insects produce to keep their cells from freezing (same chemical used in antifreeze).
Legacy: What we do in life that blesses and impacts people after our lives.
Refuge: A safe place. A shelter.
