Only those who live for Christ in the present will be willing to die for Christ in the future.

Many believe, given our political choices between the devil and the deep blue sea, plus our precipitous national slide into almost uncontested moral debauchery where good is now condemned as evil and evil promoted as good, it is now obvious that God has lifted His favor from America. Be that as it may, never lose heart. For our sovereign God remains firmly in control of human history and the destiny of His people. In the end, we win and we win big and in the interim, He is on our side, even in the midst of the downward slide.

In this world, truth has never been a naturally welcome guest in human consciousness. And in the last days, the depth of mankind's aversion to it will only intensify as light and darkness collide more violently than ever. So, be prepared for the smoking friction and taking the heat before, at last, we take the white flag and go out the winners in the race of history with heads held high. (John 3:19-31)

With God there comes a time when the unbelieving keep refusing to repent that His great patience is spent. Then it is too late to ask where it went. Thereafter, in His holy wrath, He will not relent. So let the sinner seek Him while He may be found and not keep messing around until at last one runs God's patience straight into the ground.

Human beings can learn to endure almost anything but submission to God. That, except for His gracious intervention, they will find any and every excuse to resist to their last breath. Never be surprised, but also never underestimate the redemptive power and amazing grace of our sovereign God.

As long our heart agrees with God's heart, we are in a good place. The best way to test that is to saturate our minds with God's inerrant Word, not with our easily misguided emotions.

Throughout history, especially in the early centuries of Christianity, there were those Christians who aspired to die as a martyrs. Today in some parts of the world, many are laying it all on the line for our Savior just as He did for us. Yet no believer need feel in devotion who lives as a martyr. For those who live as martyrs will never balk at dying as martyrs. (Romans 12:1)

If you know you are a sinner, you need Jesus; if you don't know you are a sinner, you need a psychiatrist.
